BumpInTheRoad

May 26, 2020

Liz O’Riordan, M.D. is a triathlete, avid baker and a breast surgeon in the UK.

In 2015, she was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer.  A combination of surgery, chemo and radiation treatments seemingly cured the cancer.

Liz did a TED talk. She co-authored a book, 'The Complete Guide to Breast Cancer: How to Feel Empowered and Take Control'with Professor Trisha Greenhalgh

Then just a few years later, the cancer came back. More treatment and surgery ensued

All this has left Liz with numerous long term complications  and at the age of just 45, after years of medical training, she is no longer able to work as a surgeon.

How does one navigate a potentially life threatening, career destroying bump in the road and find some wisdom along the way? Welcome Liz O’Riordan.
